Solar PV and solar thermal installations can now be funded respectively through the feed-in tariff and renewable heat incentive. The feed-in tariff pays a set rate per kWh of electricity generated by a solar pv installation whilst the renewable heat incentive pays for heat generating systems such as solar thermal, biomass boilers, air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps.
